P-295 Electromagnetic Research and Test Facility

The P-295 project involved the design and new construction of a highly secure and complex research and testing facility at the Navy’s Dahlgren facility. Grimberg implemented significant sustainable design features to achieve LEED certification, and the contractor completed all work to the owner’s total satisfaction. The project received excellent ratings as a result.

Overview

Work involved the construction of a 23,600-square-foot, state-of-the-art, and energy-efficient Naval research and testing facility, including extensive laboratories, an engineering/testing high bay structure, administrative areas, secure conference rooms, and related spaces, equipment, and supplies.

The P-295 project also included sustainable design features, such as complex, energy-conserving HVAC systems, controls, and energy-efficient electrical and lighting systems. Moreover, the completed facility is LEED certified and Energy Policy Act of 2005 compliant.
